At 1977, every watch reflects uncompromising French craftsmanship and the legacy of a family heritage.
Designed, created and assembled in Alsace, every piece in the 1977 collection is the result of a deep commitment to precision, creativity and craftsmanship. Wearing a 1977 watch means choosing an authentic creation, crafted with rigor, passion and boldness. It means choosing a watch certified Origine France Garantie, equipped with a French movement, produced in a limited, vintage-dated edition, embodying conscious and enduring elegance.
At 1977, every model is designed through an approach that combines innovation, cultural references and mastery of traditional watchmaking codes.
The creative process draws inspiration from iconic figures of French literature such as Edmond Dantès and Arsène Lupin, while exploring contrasting aesthetics through sunburst domed dials and hand-patinated straps.
Every element is selected with the utmost care, designed to capture the light, express a distinctive style and evoke emotion. Each collection is conceived as a watchmaking "vintage": individually numbered and inspired by a quote from a renowned French author, it stands the test of time with understated yet confident elegance.
1977 has made the bold choice of using a French automatic calibre manufactured by France Ébauches in Maîche, in the Doubs region. This robust and proven mechanical lever movement descends from the historic FE4600 and FE5600 calibres, of which more than 25 million were produced during the 1970s and 1980s.
Specially customised for 1977, it features:
This calibre embodies 1977's ambition to reaffirm the place of French mechanical excellence in the global watchmaking industry.
It is here, in the historic Pierre Lannier workshops, that 1977 watches come to life. Hand-assembled by expert watchmakers, they benefit from craftsmanship that combines industrial precision with artisanal expertise. Every timepiece is assembled, inspected and tested with the rigor and elegance that define the watchmaking profession.
Everything is designed so that assembly becomes a natural extension of the design itself. Our watches feature durable 904L stainless steel, a branded seconds hand and clasp, as well as a domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
This meticulous work guarantees impeccable finishing and exceptional durability.
Because every detail matters, each watch undergoes rigorous quality control and is backed by a 5-year warranty, extendable to 10 years.
The straps of 1977 watches are crafted with the same high standards as the cases. Made from full-grain calf leather, they are dyed, hand-patinated and hand-finished.
Every strap is unique: it develops a beautiful patina over time, ages gracefully and reflects the distinctive style of its wearer. Selected models also feature ultra-resistant FKM straps, designed for both urban life and adventure.
At 1977, every model is designed as a unique piece. Our watches are produced in limited editions of just 99 pieces, each individually engraved with its own serial number on the back of the case.
Each collection is vintage-dated, created for a specific year and embodying a unique moment in watchmaking, where style, technical excellence and uncompromising standards meet.
Far removed from mass production, 1977 embraces exclusivity to celebrate craftsmanship, commitment and the unique identity of every creation.
